Today, I'm bringing you with me on my eye-opening first 24 hours in Tunisia, where I tour the historical sites that tell the story of Rome vs. Carthage, visit the markets in the old Medina, and see the beautiful seaside village of Sidi Bou Said.
This is my first day here in Tunis as a foreigner, and I was really excited to give you my first impressions of this amazing country, while sharing some of the historical facts that I learned, as well.
And thanks to Flexispot for sponsoring the video :)

you really cant beat New England Fall foliage 😉 Also, I'm curious what you thought of Boston's public transit as someone from Europe. We're still quite a ways behind the curve compared to a lot of places around the world, but our regional rail service (The Commuter Rail) is amazing to ride and despite the delays I still love using the T anytime I'm in the city

My boyfriend’s car broke down a few months ago, and we haven’t had the money to get him a new car. Tunisia as a whole has actually more Roman ruins than Italy as the arid, dry weather makes preservation much easier than in Italy. Tunisia bears the marks of multiple empires spanning millennia and is worth visiting, not just the capital, but even the desert hides secrets and fun that most tend to ignore as they make their way to Spain or other tourist destinations.

OBB has shit customer service. Years ago I bought a bed in a 4-berth compartment, which was more expensive than the 6-bed. I was given a spot at the 6-bed. When I complained, I was told to send my ticket to their HQ, which I did. Months passed without news so I contacted them again. They said they never received my ticket (I sent it with registered mail) & so couldn't give me a refund. They did send me a 50 euro voucher LOL

During your video, you refer to the Downeaster as the only train in Maine that still exists, which is technically true, but the service was actually started in 2001 after a large effort by the state of Maine to reintroduce passenger rail between Maine and Boston. Edit: If I had watched the video for literally another 30 seconds you actually address this, lol

Never say never I suppose, but fortunately the Downeaster seems to have enough support and (by US standards) ridership, I don't see it going away... The one * is that if Boston ever builds the rail tunnel connecting North and South station, I could see the Downeaster becoming an extension of the Northeast Regional to NY/DC/etc. The tracks do indeed extend past Brunswick - for a time there was even a tourist railroad that started in Brunswick after the Downeaster arrived, and continued up to Rockland. There have been talks of extending some Downeaster runs since that railroad ceased operations.

Yeah our trains are a bit... dated. I wouldn't recommend it. The train transportation industry in Romania has received a lot of cutbacks and with a lack of funds the train workforce has left. Whatever is left are old trains from 1998 and employees who are either really passionate/don't know or want any other job, or people who stopped caring after they haven't received a raise in 10 years.

I would not travel on that train after hearing your experience. There is no excuse for rude staff. You seemed to excuse their behavior for the reason that it is a hard job. That they are up all night and away from their families does not make unfriendliness ok. As an American I can say I am used to staff being friendly and not in a bad mood. The compartments look uncomfortable and you said they have no personal temperature control. Too hot or too cold….not pleasant
